Unreal

            google.com

Common sought seen as real is not

What not is real common appeal

Given taken then mistaken

Covered clouded warning shrouded

Convinced and doubted found surrounded

Former fears create recent tears

Those of the past do linger last

Forget forgot or even sought

This is my response to a challenge I found at the imaginary garden with real toads.

  1. Whoa. Had to re-read this a couple times to wrap my head around it. I like it. Your wordplay is really cool.

  3. I found it difficult to grasp your meaning at the outset of this poem, I'm sorry to say. Your style here reminds me of the Futurists we looked at a while ago, with its convoluted grammar. I found the last three lines drove your message home.

    1. Kerry, yes. I see what you mean about the futurists. I do mean to go back in forth in time with this. Past effects the present. And what good is perfect grammar? No matter how perfect one uses grammar readers will still take their own spin on whatever it is that they are reading. I am wishy washy. I am not perfect. My past effects my present and unfortunately it also effects my future. Therefore my incorrect grammar and tendancy to make conversatios with myself actually makes my poetry authentic. Or so I am inclined to believe.

  4. Holy cow, that was quite the impressive wording. I had to read it through super slow a few times!
